Black and white sepia-toned photograph of Yukon Airways & Exploration Company Ltd. crashed airplane "Queen of the Yukon". PL wing tip and front end of plane show most damage. "G-CAHR", the plane's registration is visible on the body and tail of the plane and "Queen of the" visible on the cockpit. A man is standing behind the damaged wing. The engine appears to be covered with a cloth. Some debris from the wreck is on the ground adjacent to the plane.
Photograph has a 0.5 cm white border around it. Back of the photo has a blue ink stamp that reads: "Crystal Finish/ 580/Will Not Fade".

Yukon Airways & Exploration Company Ltd. airplane "Queen of the Yukon" was the Yukon's first commercial airplane. Brought to the Yukon in November 1927, she had the contract to carry the mail and helped to open up the North. The Queen crashed and was damaged beyond repair May 5, 1928.
