Handwritten diary on lined notebook of Gordon Stewart. Chronicles Stewart's involvement with Yukon Airways and Exploration Company Ltd. The Queen of the Yukon II (CF-AHD) was flown by pilot John Patterson from St. Louis, Missouri to Seattle, Washington. It was in Seattle that Gordon Stewart became involved with Yukon Airways and Exploration Company Ltd.
First entry in the diary is August 21, 1929, last entry is September 29, 1929.
The back of the diary contains a written account by Stewart of the above trip.
Gordon Stewart joined Yukon Airways & Exploration Company Ltd. in the summer of 1929 when the company purchased a new Ryan B5, to be the Queen of the Yukon II. The plane was picked up in St. Louis, Missouri by pilot John Patterson and flown to Seattle, Washington. It was in Seattle that Gordon Stewart began his tenure with Yukon Airways. The two Barnstormed up the west coast of B.C,. to bring the airplane to the Yukon.
