Typewritten, one-page letter from John Patterson ("Pat") to Gordon Stewart dated May 28, 1929. Signed by John Patterson.
Letter provides speculation on the features of the new Queen of the Yukon II ordered by Yukon Airways and Exploration Company Ltd.; references to the weather; a baseball game; and a measles outbreak. Signature is "Pat" handwritten in pencil.
The envelope is postmarked Whitehorse, Yukon May 24, 1929.
Gordon Stewart joined Yukon Airways & Exploration Company Ltd. in the summer of 1929 when the company purchased a new Ryan B5, to be the Queen of the Yukon II. The plane was picked up in St. Louis, Missouri by pilot John Patterson and flown to Seattle, Washington. It was in Seattle that Gordon Stewart began his tenure with Yukon Airways. The two Barnstormed up the west coast of B.C,. to bring the airplane to the Yukon.
