Navy blue baseball cap with "Arctic Airports" written in yellow across the front
Air-companies are not the only connections aviators find throughout the world; air-hubs can be a source of connection for pilots and ground-crews alike. Especially for smaller, more remote locations with trickier weather conditions, people can connect over their shared timed flying or servicing them. Flying over the Arctic Circle is uncommon among the world’s pilots; there are not many places to fly up there, not a lot of traffic, and the skill required to fly in remote environments is not universal. Manning the airfields is no less easier; the temperatures alone can be miserable when loading or maintaining aircraft, not to mention the logistical hassles when distances are involved. Between the stresses and the sense of accomplishment, it is easy to understand why those who work that far north made a hat to recognise the region’s airports!
