Trans North’s start was the work of four men, Gordon Davis, Ron Connelly, Al Kapty, and Chuck Hankins, who together founded the service in 1967 under a slightly different name from the one it goes by today: Trans North Turbo Air. Although turboshaft engines are still very much used on helicopters, including those in Trans North’s fleet, the word “Turbo” was later dropped as the company evolved
