Aviator's Helmet
Brown, leather aviator's helmet. Strap with metal buckle across chin area. Back of helmet has two straps and buckles for size adjustment as well as two straps with snaps. Ear coverings have donut-shaped padding on interior, exterior has a zipper. Interior PL back of helmet has W. G.F.? Pratt written in ink. Above this is the remnants of a number "R21...". PR interior of helmet, just below ear protector is a circular stamp. with the word Nation? and the letter M? inside it.

Gordon Stewart joined Yukon Airways & Exploration Company Ltd. in the summer of 1929 when the company purchased a new Ryan B5, to be the Queen of the Yukon II. The plane was picked up in St. Louis, Missouri by pilot John Patterson and flown to Seattle, Washington. It was in Seattle that Gordon Stewart began his tenure with Yukon Airways. Floats were fitted on the plane at Renton airport and they began their barnstorming trip up the west coast of B.C. on their way to the Yukon.
